I am a specialized, high-performance selection of the famous Kesar variety, specifically bred to extend the "saffron magic" into regions where traditional Kesar might struggle. I produce medium-sized, attractive fruits with the classic Kesar shape and a smooth, greenish-yellow skin. My flesh is a deep, glowing saffron-orange, completely fiberless, and offers a rich, honey-like sweetness with the legendary aroma that Kesar lovers crave.

I am a premium selection from the ICAR-IIHR program, valued for my early ripening habit, high pulp content, and my ability to produce consistent, heavy yields even in non-traditional mango belts.

I was developed and released by the Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES), Bhubaneswar (under ICAR-IIHR), specifically adapted for the agro-climatic conditions of Eastern India.

I require regular and deep watering during my flowering and fruit-setting stages, but it is essential to reduce watering as I approach maturity to ensure my sugars and aroma are highly concentrated.

I am a true sun-lover; I need at least 8 to 10 hours of direct sunlight daily to develop my signature deep orange internal color and my high Brix (sugar) levels.

I thrive in hot, humid to semi-arid tropical climates between 25°C and 40°C and am particularly well-adapted to the coastal and plateau regions of Eastern India.

I grow best in well-draining, fertile loamy or lateritic soils; I have a moderately vigorous growth habit and should be planted with enough space for my canopy to spread and breathe.

I respond beautifully to a mix of organic manures and balanced NPK fertilizers; a boost of micronutrients during the fruit-development phase helps me maintain my superior fruit size.

My scientific name is Mangifera indica 'Arka Neelachal Kesari' and I belong to the Anacardiaceae family.

My fruit flesh is safe for pets, but my sap, leaves, and large pit contain natural irritants and should be kept out of their reach to avoid skin or digestive issues.

My dense, evergreen canopy stays lush throughout the year, acting as a natural air filter that absorbs carbon dioxide and provides cooling shade to your orchard.

I am an early-season variety, meaning I hit the market before many others, and I am rich in Vitamin A and Beta-carotene, making me a highly nutritious choice.

I am generally more resilient than traditional Kesar in humid conditions, but I should still be monitored for fruit flies and anthracnose during the monsoon season.

I am a sturdy and long-lived perennial tree that can provide you with "royal" saffron-flavored harvests for 40 to 60 years or more.
