All Details

I am Mamey Sapote, the tropical treasure with rough brown skin and vibrant orange-red flesh. My flavor is a blend of sweet potato, pumpkin, and apricot, with a creamy texture that delights in desserts and drinks. I thrive in warm climates, offering farmers reliable yields and families a unique delicacy.

I am a tropical fruit tree producing large brown fruits with sweet orange-red pulp.

Native to Central America; cultivated in Mexico, Cuba, and tropical Asia.

Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.

Requires full sun (6–8 hours daily).

Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.

Plant in well-drained sandy-loam soil; spacing 8–10 meters apart.

Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 annually; supplement with calcium and magnesium.

Botanical name: Pouteria sapota; Family: Sapotaceae.

Fruits are safe; seeds are large and not edible.

Moderate; dense canopy reduces dust.

Fruits are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and carotenoids; pulp used in smoothies, ice creams, and desserts.

Susceptible to fruit fly, anthracnose, and root rot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.

Can live 40–60 years; starts fruiting in 5–7 years; peak yield from year 12 onward.

Everyday: from 8:00AM to 6:00PM
