I am Thai Chikoo, the smooth-skinned, sugar-rich gem of the tropics. My fruits are large, juicy, and caramel-sweet, perfect for milkshakes and fresh snacking. I grow fast, fruit early, and reward growers with consistent, market-ready harvests.

I am a tropical fruit tree producing large, sweet sapota fruits with smooth skin and soft pulp.

Selected and cultivated in Thailand; adapted widely in India and Southeast Asia.

Water weekly; increase during flowering and fruiting.

Requires full sun (6–8 hours daily).

Thrives in 25–38°C; tolerates dry heat.

Plant in well-drained sandy-loam soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.

Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2–3 months; supplement with potassium and boron.

Botanical name: Manilkara zapota; Cultivar: Thai; Family: Sapotaceae.

Fruits are safe; seeds not edible.

Moderate; dense canopy reduces dust.

Fruits rich in natural sugars, fiber, and vitamin C; used fresh, in milkshakes, and desserts.

Susceptible to fruit fly, mealybugs, and leaf spot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.

Can live 40–60 years; starts fruiting in 2–3 years; peak yield from year 6 onward.
