I am Longsat, the pearl of the tropics. My fruits hang in golden clusters, each orb bursting with juicy sweetness and a hint of citrus. I thrive in warm, humid forests, offering shade, beauty, and a taste of Southeast Asia.
I am a tropical fruit tree producing grape-sized, translucent fruits with sweet-tart flavor.
Native to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo; cultivated across Southeast Asia.
Water 2–3 times per week; prefers high humidity.
Partial shade to full sun.
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost and dry winds.
Plant in rich, well-drained loamy soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2 months; mulch to retain moisture.
Botanical name: Lansium parasiticum (syn. Lansium domesticum); Family: Meliaceae.
Fruits are safe; seeds bitter and not edible.
Moderate; dense canopy reduces dust.
Fruits rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants; bark and seeds used in traditional medicine.
Susceptible to mealybugs, scale insects, and fungal rot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.
