I am Matoa Black, the orchard’s exotic gem. My glossy dark fruits hide a soft, fragrant pulp, offering a taste that blends rambutan, longan, and lychee.
I am a tropical fruit tree producing black-skinned matoa fruits.
Native to Papua, Indonesia; also found in Borneo and Southeast Asia.
Irrigate weekly; prefer moist, well-drained soil.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2–3 months.
Botanical name: Pometia pinnata (Black variety); Family: Sapindaceae.
Fruits are safe; seeds not edible.
Moderate; dense canopy reduces dust.
