All Details

I am Tropical Apricot, the hybrid jewel of orchards. My small orange fruits resemble apricots but carry a tangy tropical twist. I thrive in warm climates, offering families a refreshing delicacy and farmers a niche crop for specialty markets.

I am a hybrid tropical fruit tree producing apricot-like fruits with sweet-tart pulp.

Hybrid of Dovyalis species, developed in Florida; cultivated in tropical Asia and Africa.

Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.

Requires full sun.

Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.

Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 4–6 meters apart.

Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2–3 months.

Botanical name: Dovyalis hybrid (Tropical Apricot); Family: Salicaceae.

Fruits are safe; seeds edible but sour.

Moderate; dense foliage reduces dust.

Fruits rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber; used fresh, in jams, jellies, and juices.

Susceptible to fruit fly, anthracnose, and leaf spot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.

Can live 20–30 years; starts fruiting in 3–4 years; peak yield from year 8 onward.
