I am Rayaan, the hardy forest fruit tree. My small yellow fruits are sweet and nutritious, loved by children and birds. I thrive in dry climates, offering shade, fruit, and grafting support for sapota orchards.

I am a tropical fruit tree producing small yellow fruits.

Native to India; common in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra.

Minimal; drought-tolerant once mature.

Requires full sun.

Thrives in 25–40°C.

Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.

Apply compost annually; minimal fertilizer needed.

Botanical name: Manilkara hexandra; Family: Sapotaceae.

Fruits safe for humans; seeds not edible.

Fruits eaten fresh; tree used as rootstock for sapota; wood used in carpentry.

Generally hardy; occasional leaf spot and caterpillars.

Can live 50–60 years; starts fruiting in 6–7 years.
