I am Kokum (R), the ruby fruit of the Konkan coast. My deep red rind and pulp are prized for refreshing summer drinks, tangy curries, and Ayurvedic remedies. I thrive in warm, coastal climates, offering farmers reliable harvests and families a natural coolant.
I am a kokum cultivar producing red fruits used in drinks and medicine.
Native to the Western Ghats of India; cultivated in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and Gujarat.
Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun to partial shade.
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in lateritic or sandy-loam soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 annually; supplement with micronutrients like magnesium and boron.
