Native to the Mediterranean; cultivated in India (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka).
Water weekly; prefers moist but well-drained soil.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 20–30°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in loamy soil; spacing 4–5 meters apart; grafted/tissue culture plants preferred.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 annually; supplement with micronutrients.
